The Thorne Group of Companies provide Contracting Services to the development and environmental sectors across the North of England and East Midlands.

Our core activity, bulk earthworks, is supported by an extensive, modern fleet of plant and equipment and a management team experienced in reclamation and the regeneration of former industrial sites.

Our aim is to provide transparent value for money solutions to our growing list of blue chip clients.

Established over eight years ago by Alex Mellor and Kevin Lunness, The Thorne Group of Companies currently turnover approximately £8 million per annum.

Over recent years the company has re-invested profits to establish a modern fleet of excavation plant and associated specialist equipment, ensuring projects and our commitment to our customers needs, are delivered promptly, openly and entirely with in-house resources.

We have recently invested over £9million in new plant and have over 70 machines under 2 years old within our plant fleet, with excavators ranging from 14t to 75t as detailled in our plant list.

Our clients include UK Coal, Harworth Estates, Environment Agency, Yorkshire Forward, EMDA, Wakefield District Council and several of the UK’s leading contractors.
